IMD Issues Weather Alerts: Heavy Rainfall Expected in Mumbai, Raigad, and Thane Over the Weekend

Mumbai has been experiencing significant rainfall, marking the second consecutive day of heavy showers. On July 19, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded 67 mm of rain at the Colaba observatory and 24.8 mm at the Santacruz observatory. The forecast indicates continued rainfall over the weekend, prompting the IMD to issue a yellow alert for Mumbai and an orange alert for the neighbouring regions of Raigad and Thane.

As of now, the total seasonal rainfall stands at 1417.8 mm for Colaba and 1407.1 mm for Santacruz. Additionally, water stocks in Mumbai's lakes are currently at 39.23%. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions during this monsoon season.
